The Scent Of Stars
Last night Brinley and I were outside looking up at the stars. She said, "Pretty stars!". I asked her if she knew who made the stars. Then I told her that God had made all of the pretty stars for us. Her little face lit up and she looked up and inhaled the night air quickly and smiled and said, "Mmmmm....stars smell good!!!".

Happy Birthday, Bailey!
Today is Bailey Shay's 3rd birthday. I have gone from smiling to crying and back again. It hurts my heart to know that she is still in the orphanage without a mama & daddy to hug her and give her birthday kisses. She may not even know that today was her big day. We sent gifts to her and we hope she received them or will receive them. Our last report says that she is very girly and loves to play with dolls so we sent her a new little baby doll. During the halloween clearance at WalMart I bought up all of the little sets of angel wings, wands and crowns that I could find. We sent twenty of these little sets in Bailey's birthday box so that she and all of her little friends can twirl and dance and make believe.
I hope that today was full of love and little girl giggles for our sweet baby. I know that she is being taken care of and that her ayi loves her very much and that is a huge comfort during this long wait.
I just can't wait to hold her and kiss that sweet little face.
Happy Birthday, Bailey!!! Sweet dreams little princess.....
We love you!!!!!!

26 Days & Counting
We are on day 26 of our wait for LOA. I had a good cry today about Bailey. It is taking us so long to bring her home. By the time we get to her it will have been a full year that we have been working on bringing her home. I look at the video of her and she still seems so much like a baby. She is still so tiny. She's the same size now that Brinley was at 28 months. Bailey will be 3 on Sunday.
Today I was reading about baby teeth. Bailey only has 16 teeth. By the age of 3 she should have 20. She may be cutting teeth when we get her so I need to remember to bring some teething gel for her. Brinley had most of her teeth already when we received her.
Maybe Bailey's bday is off just like the doctors all suspect Brinley's is. We'll never know.
I just want our baby HOME. My heart hurts for her. I know she doesn't know that we miss her. She doesn't know that she is missing out on being a part of our family........but I sure do miss her. Part of ME is missing as long as she is on the other side of the world.
Bailey,
Mama loves you. I love you just like I love Josh, Jie Jie, Keith, Bricey and Brinley. You are the last little piece of my heart. We will be there soon sweet girl. We pray for you everyday and we look at the video and the photos we have of you and we dream of the day you will be here with all of us. We will be there soon.....
Today I mailed a package to you. It is full of things for you and your friends. Fairy wings, crowns and wands for 20 little ones to make believe with!
I love you,
Mama

Unwritten Kristen
Our oldest daughter Kristen will be 20 years old in two weeks. She sang
the song "Unwritten" at church Easter Sunday. We have been attending
this church for about a year and this was her first time singing there
and she had to sing it for four services.
We are sooooo proud of her!! It's not a great quality video but I'm still just so proud of her! She has an amazing voice!
When she was a baby she heard the song "Lola" on the radio one day and
she toddled around all day singing "Lola la la la la Lola" and ever
since that day I have called her "Lola".

My Little Pretty
I had someone email me about Brinley's valentine dress. (See the comment under "Brice Speaks Up".) I have a little embroidery business and I put the design on Brinley's dress. I tried to email Leslie but the email wouldn't go through so I am posting here in the hopes that she will see this.
Leslie,
I have an embroidery business and I appliqued the love symbol and heart onto
Brinley's dress. My website is up but it is a bit difficult to navigate so
we are working on fixing some things. If you'd like to check it out it is
My Little Pretty. <~~~~This is a link.
Right now I am working on items for some local festivals so I am busy, busy but if you'd like to place an order and you need something ASAP please let me know and I will do my best to get it to you right away. I've had a few moms email me about getting bday cupcake dresses and I have been able to deliver all of them on time. :)
Thanks so much for your sweet comments on Bailey. I'd love to hear about your daughter!

Brice speaks up....
Last week we were doing childcare at our church on Friday night for a special group that was meeting. We only had a few kids so they were just running around being silly and stuff.
They decided to watch "High School Musical" and do the sing along version. Brice wasn't really into it so he was doing some other stuff. However, he did overhear one of the little girls who was watching the movie say "Eeeeew, Chinese!" when the principal was talking to Gabriella. (I think that's her name.) Anyway, he went over to this little girl who, by the way is of mixed races and LOVES to tell everyone that she has "black family and white family". She is very proud of this and she is so stinkin' cute! Anyway, Brice goes over to her and without hesitation says, "Hey, didn't you notice my sister? She IS Chinese, you know." I could tell he was wanting to turn this into a big confrontation but when the little girl just shrugged her shoulders he just walked away. I could tell he really didn't like her comment about Chinese people in general. I'm glad to know that he thought enough of his sister to say something and I'm glad he didn't get into a big fuss like some people might have at that age.
