Go Shopping After Thanksgiving???

What????? You mean people go SHOPPING the day after Thanksgiving????
Hmmmm......well, not around our house!
The day after Thanksgiving is official SAUSAGE MAKIN' DAY at Granny Mae & Boss' house! That's right. Sausage. Okay.....so, we are country folks. ;)
Every year Marty and his parents and his cousin Ricky and Ricky's wife Jane get together and make sausage. Usually cousin "Shot" and his son "Bee Bee" (I'm not making this up!) are there too but not this year. This year they made sausage and also hash to eat with BBQ. No liver pudding (YUCK!!!!!!) this year.

Happy Turkey Day!

Thanksgiving was a good day for all of us. Of course I had my teary eyed moments when I thought of our tiny girl on the other side of the world eating "bone soup".
I am so ready to bring her home. Brinley still insists on calling her "Rylie". So, I think we have decided her name will be Jaiden Rylie. I can't wait to see the two of them playing together. I know it's going to be a tough road sometimes because Brinley does not like to share. She still has that orphanage instinct that she has to hang on to any toy with a fierce grip anytime any other child comes around. I feel so bad for her because she truly believes that if a child picks up her toy that she won't get it back. Some people understand that this is an issue from her being in the SWI. Other people have smirked and said, "Well, I'll be praying for your mama and daddy when they have two of you." Grrrrrrrrrrrr....... I know.....be nice.

Business Is Booming!

Marty and I have been praying for a way to bring in more income for our family. Our prayers have been answered abundantly and I just want to thank all of my adoptive friends who have ordered shirts, pillowcases, tote bags, overalls, etc from me!!! I love each and every one of you so much! You have all blessed our lives more than you will ever know! God is so richly blessing our home through getting to know so many of you! Thank you for allowing me to create these special items for your little ones!

Fingerprints DONE!

We traveled down to Charleston today to have our fingerprints done.
When we arrived and knocked on the door, the guard came and opened it and said, "Can I help you???" I said, "We have a 3 o'clock appointment for fingerprints." He said, "Sorry, we don't do those here anymore." and started to shut the door........then he laughed. LOL I almost started crying before he laughed!
Well, the fingerprints are done and the boys are happy because we stopped at one of their favorite pizza places in the Lowcountry while we were down there.
It's all starting to come together!!! Thank you, Lord!!! We give all of the credit to YOU!!!
The boys have a new favorite thing to do in the evenings. Marty found a place to download old radio programs and they sit around the computer every evening listening to tales of suspense or comedies. I love it!

Homestudy Rescheduled!

Our social worker will be here Thursday for our home visit and we get to have our fingerprints done on Friday. It's going to be a busy week for us but filled with such joy in completing each of these tasks that bring us closer and closer to our sweet baby.
Please pray for us that this week will go flawlessly and that God's hand will be on each and every thing we have to do to bring Jaiden home.

Seein' Double!

I bought a double stroller today for the girls! I found it at a Thrift Store for a great price so I just couldn't resist. Brinley sits in it and puts her dolls in the other side. :)
Brice found a little black kitten at granny's house today and we brought it home. So far, the kitty is unnamed.

No fingerprints

Yesterday morning we traveled down to the Charleston immigration office. We had an appointment for 9:45. We went to file our paperwork with immigration and to have our fingerprints done. Well, we were able to file our paperwork and pay the $755 fee but last week they changed things around. Now they no longer do the fingerprints when you bring your paperwork in. You can mail it to them or you can bring it in but then you have to wait for them to mail your fingerprint appt. to you. So, we did file our paperwork and pay the fee. Luckily there was a very nice man in the office (along with a not so nice lady) and he made our appointment to come back in for fingerprints while we were there. We go back on November 17. Our social worker is coming for our home visit on November 16 so it's all falling into place.
Brinley is still calling Jaiden "Rylie". :) Now she calls her Jaiden Rylie. There may be another name change in the works. We'll see.

Maybe this is Jaiden?

We have a photo that our sweet friends Erin and Rich took in Guilin when they went to bring their daughter home. It is of a huge poster in the play yard. The photo of the little one with the basketball is definitely Jaiden.
When we first received this photo in August I thought it might be before and after photos of the children. Well, the baby the nurse in pink is holding has her cleft on the wrong side to be Jaiden so I dismissed that thought and was thrilled to have the photo of Jaiden with the basketball. Well, this morning Erin emailed me wondering if it is Jaiden that the nurse in pink is holding too.
I got a bright idea and I flipped the photo over and now WOW....it really looks like Jaiden now!!! It very well could be her. She was 5 months old when she had her cleft lip repaired.
I keep looking at it and wondering if it's her. What do you think???
